Havering has once again bagged a number of top awards in the London in Bloom competition, placing the Borough’s parks among the best in London.
The Borough’s parks all achieved gold awards in several different categories, including the coveted “City” category which is awarded to the best Borough, district or City area.
London in Bloom is a competition where London Boroughs, communities, residents and businesses work together to improve their local parks and environment to make them places to enjoy.
To succeed, entries must meet the Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) highest rigorous scoring standards across horticultural excellence, environmental responsibility and community participation.
Councillor Martynas Cekavicius, Havering’s Cabinet Member for Public Realm, said:
“We are all delighted and proud to see Havering bring home so many prestigious awards from London in Bloom.
"It is a well-deserved accolade for our parks and ground maintenance staff, volunteers and Friends of Parks groups.
“Their hard work and dedication all year around help make our parks wonderful places to visit and enjoy for everyone.”
