Havering Council has awarded a series of major works and compliance contracts as part of its Strategic Alliance programme.

This marks another important step in improving how the Council and its partners work together to deliver services for residents.

The newly awarded contracts will support the delivery of essential maintenance, capital works and statutory compliance across the Borough's 11,000 housing stock and public buildings.

By bringing key partners together under the Strategic Alliance framework, Havering is creating a more collaborative approach that will drive greater efficiency, improve performance and deliver better outcomes for residents.

Recent contract awards include:

  • A ten-year Planned Works contract with Equans Regeneration Limited – responsible for improvement works across the Council’s homes and a wide range of enhancements including kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, structural repairs, maintenance, and internal upgrades to help make them more energy efficient.
  • United Infrastructure, who have just secured two long-term contracts for planned improvement works, one for the Council’s high-rise buildings and another for low-rise blocks and estates.

The Strategic Alliance is designed to foster long-term partnerships, encouraging innovation, shared accountability and more effective planning across major works and compliance programmes.

This approach will enable partners to work more closely together, respond more quickly to challenges and ensure investment is targeted where it will have the greatest impact.

The contractors will set up offices in the Borough as part of their contract commitments.

Councillor Robert Whitton, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said:

"These contract awards represent our commitment to providing safe, high-quality homes and buildings for our residents.

“Through the Strategic Alliance, we are strengthening relationships with trusted partners, improving collaboration and creating a more efficient model for delivering high-quality, value-for-money services while providing the best possible services for local communities."
