Parents urged to apply for their child's Year 7 school place

Parents of Year 6 children are being urged to apply for their child’s Year 7 secondary school place before it’s too late.

Havering parents are being encouraged to list as many schools as possible in their online application.

Councillor Robert Benham, Cabinet Member for Children and Learning, said:
“It is crucial that parents of year 6 children apply before the deadline for their child’s secondary school place, as the process isn’t automatic.

“We would encourage residents to help us to get the message out to all parents, in particular, to those families new to the borough.

“Reminder information about applying on time for a secondary school place will be sent to all junior and primary schools in Havering, and posters are being displayed across the borough in children’s centres, libraries and community notice boards to ensure no one misses out.”

If your child was born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, you need to apply for a place in September 2019 by Wednesday 31 October 2018.
