Market Spooktacular brings Halloween to Havering

Published: Wednesday, 17 October 2018

Havering Council will host the first of a number of events in Romford Market this autumn with Halloween Spooktacular, a free, family-friendly spooky experience.

The Alchemist Puppet Show

Taking place on Saturday 27 October from 11am - 4pm, the event in Romford Market will include The Alchemist, a light-hearted, slapstick puppet show about a man and his mad experiments, performed by Frolicked.

Families are also invited to take a trip on the Ghost Train, offering scares and thrills for those who dare to climb aboard.

Other entertainment at the event includes spooky face-painting, pumpkin decorating and a wandering assortment of witches and other ghastly ghouls joining the fun.

Time 107.5 FM will be there to provide the soundtrack, playing non-stop fang-tastic tunes.

The Spooktacular is the first of a series of events and activities planned for Romford Market to attract more visitors and traders. Visitors will also see regular street entertainment at the Market.

Councillor Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, said:

“This is the first in a whole host of exciting events, laid on by the Council, for Romford Market.

“The Market Place has long been the heart and soul of Romford town centre and is a proud part of Havering’s heritage.

“I hope everyone comes along to enjoy these events and shows their support for our Market.”

The event will take place at the Tollgate House end of the Market. For more information about Romford Market events, click here.
