Cllr Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, welcomes the new health and wellbeing centre for Havering

"The Council welcomes the announcement of funding for a new health and wellbeing centre in Havering. We have worked with the Clinical Commissioning Group to push for a new facility at the St George’s site since the hospital closed.

“The proposals are part of a collective commitment, along with housing, to ensure that we have adequate facilities in place to work alongside plans for continued regeneration in the borough.

“The news comes at a welcome time, as Havering Council together with the NHS has just launched a consultation on a new Health and Wellbeing Strategy for the borough. We look forward to working together to improve the health of local residents, by providing necessary treatment services, as well as supporting patients to take action to live healthy lives. ”
