Havering is definitely the pick of the bunch as it shined brightly at London in Bloom, winning a host of awards.
The borough was awarded 16 gold awards, six silver gilt award and one silver award.
It also won the following special awards:
- Large Conservation Area of The Year: Hornchurch Country Park
- Country Park of The Year: Hornchurch Country Park
- Greener Streets – Better Lives Gold Award: Rainham Village
- Town Centre Gold Award: Elm Park
- Gold Awards for South Essex Crematorium and Romford Cemetery
The haul included It’s Your Neighbourhood Awards for Harwood and Oak Glen Residents Club, Friends of Bedfords Park and St Peter’s Gardening Group (Harold Wood ward).
Romford Cemetery and South Essex Crematorium and Upminster Cemetery won gold in the Large Cemetery award category.
London in Bloom is a campaign and competition where London boroughs, communities, residents and businesses can work together to improve their environment to make them greener and cleaner places to live, work and visit.
