Egg-citing events go online for Easter

Published: Tuesday, 30 March 2021

Havering Council’s helping residents to celebrate another cracking Easter with a series of online events.

Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, the Council won't be able to hold traditional Easter craft activities in Romford Market this year, but residents can still can still join in the fun online.

Saturday 3 April 2021

At 12noon, join a workshop to create your own rabbit ear headband.

It's a fun alternative to an Easter bonnet.

At 1pm, you can take part in a face painting tutorial

Beginners of all ages can learn how to face paint.

Following the success of last year's Easter Bunny tutorial, this year you can learn how to paint a baby chick.

Later in the day, at 2pm, learn how to make hot cross buns in our cooking tutorial.

Then wrap up the day with Rappin Rabbits – telling the story of Easter with a twist produced by Lightnin Drama Group.

Sunday 4 April 2021

On Easter Sunday, our cooking tutorial turns to chocolate cupcakes, at 12noon.

Then at 1pm, join Essie for our Easter Story: the Littlest Bunny.

At 3pm, watch the grand finale – as the Lightnin Drama Group bring us a fun Easter sing and dance-along.

Mayor of Havering, Councillor John Mylod, said:

“Although we can’t celebrate Easter with events in Romford Market as usual, it’s great that families can still mark the occasion with fun activities and entertainment online.

“I encourage all residents to get involved and wish everyone a very Happy Easter.”

All Easter events will be streamed on the Havering Council Facebook page.
