New rapid testing site for Harold Hill

A new rapid Covid 19 testing site opened in Harold Hill this week (26 April 2021), offering regular testing for anyone that is not showing symptoms.

Located at Chippenham Road Children’s Centre in Harold Hill, the new site gives those living or working in Harold Hill a convenient site to get their twice-weekly tests.

One in three people who have Covid 19 do not show any symptoms.

As the country continues to open up from lockdown, it is now more important than ever to get tested twice per week and avoid spreading the virus unwittingly.

Those who have had one or both doses of the Covid 19 vaccine should continue to test regularly, as they can still pass on the infection.

The site is also a collection point for home testing kits. When testing at home, make sure to record your result online, whether it is positive or negative – this only takes a couple of minutes.

Appointments can be booked online through Havering's Covid 19 testing page, and drop-in slots will be available throughout the day.

Everyone is encouraged to book a test, and then collect their home testing kits to continue testing twice a week.

The Chippenham Road site replaces the former rapid testing site located in Harold Wood Library, which closed last Friday in preparation to reopen as a normal library in the future.

Councillor Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, said:

“It is up to all of us to do our bit and make testing part of our daily routine, especially as we continue to follow the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.

“It is so quick and easy to get tested, with a selection of rapid testing sites, and collection of home kits from all of our libraries, and many local pharmacies.”

Testing is only available for those not showing symptoms. If you are showing Covid 19 symptoms, please do not visit this site - you should self-isolate immediately and book a test online or by calling 119.
