About commissioning in social care
The Havering Adult Commissioning Team manages a range of contracted services across adult social care, prevention, statutory support and public health.
These services are commissioned to meet local needs, improve outcomes for residents, support independence and ensure that high-quality provision is available across the borough.
Some services are available directly to residents, while others require an assessment, referral or agreement from a health or social care professional.
The sections on this page provide an overview of the commissioned services and details on how each service can be accessed.
There is a wide system that exists to provide for the health and social care needs of vulnerable people in Havering, and it is the function of the Adult Commissioning Team to try and ensure that the system is coordinated in the best possible way to meet the needs of individuals and ensure their well-being.
The Adult Commissioning Team are also responsible for preparing a number of reports about social care.
