Single resident discounts
If you are the only occupant of your property over 18 then you can get a 25 percent discount.
You'll need to have a My Havering account and then register your Council Tax account to use this online form. Find out how to manage your Council Tax online.
Once you have access to the Council Tax account you will be able to fill in the form to apply for a discount.

People not counted for Council Tax
If there are other adults in the property with you then you may still be eligible for a 25 percent discount. These are some of the residents who are disregarded for Council Tax purposes:
- full time students
- people in prison
- carers
- residents in nursing homes
- residents that are registered severely mentally impaired
- non-British spouses of students
It is possible to have more than one of the above in your property and still get a discount. For example a single parent with two adult students could still get the discount.
