The Council can, in certain cases, assist with re-decoration of your home.
You will need to meet the criteria below.
Referral criteria
You:
- must not have had any concessionary decorations within the last five years
- need to be over the age of 65
- need to be on a low income
- do not have any relatives or friends that can help assist with decorating your property
- have disabilities, health issues or vulnerabilities that restrict you from carrying out your own decorations
Eligible rooms
You will be entitled to have two rooms decorated from the following list.
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Bedroom
- Living room
- Hallway
- Stairs/Landing
Please note that the hallway and stairs/landing is classed as two rooms.
If you feel that you meet the criteria then please contact us through our housing enquiry form to arrange for a Maintenance Surveyor or Housing Officer to visit to then complete the decoration referral form.
If you are approved for decoration help
You will be added to a waiting list and our contractors will contact you with an appointment to complete the works. All the Councils repair staff including contractors will carry ID.
To help us, please make sure you:
- let us in to carry out the decoration on the pre-arranged date
- keep all pets and children away from the work area and any equipment
