Lucy Goodfellow, Head of Innovation and Improvement

As a former resident of Havering and a parent, I care deeply about improving services and life chances for the children and young people of our borough.

I was therefore delighted to take up the role of Head of Innovation and Improvement in June 2024, just a few months into our improvement journey.

With 20+ years’ experience in local government, I have led various performance teams, supporting both Children’s Services and other council departments by providing the insight needed to continuously improve the services we deliver.

I currently lead a small team consisting of performance and business intelligence analysts and project managers and officers, who are all proud to be supporting Havering’s Children’s Services in our on-going improvement journey.

Our role is not only to ensure that the authority is delivering the necessary improvements but also to explore innovative solutions that will support both our workforce and the children and families we are all here to serve.

This includes Havering’s implementation of the government’s Families First Partnership Programme, a once in a lifetime opportunity to rebalance the children’s social care towards earlier and more holistic support for families.

I am proud to be part of a committed senior leadership team that is determined to put families first and improve the life of Havering’s children and young people.
