Repair services
The workshop based at the Central depot in Rainham Road is responsible for maintaining the entire council fleet and any hired vehicles used by the council.
All of our vehicles undergo regular inspections, passenger vehicles are inspected 8-weekly and HGV vehicles 12-weekly.
Every 6 months tail lift load testing is carried out.
This service is also available to maintain, inspect and repair vehicles for schools and other affiliated groups.
The workshop contains 8 portable column lifts able to lift 28 ton. There are also three 5 ton four poster lifts and pits.
This department can comfortably work on vehicles up to 32 ton, can cover vehicle classes 4, 5, 6 and 7 and can work on agricultural and horticultural vehicles.
Workshops can cover inspections, arrange MOT's and carry out any pre-MOT checks, tail-lift repairs and servicing and L.O.L.E.R (weight testing).
Workshops carry out servicing on air conditioning systems (climate control), it is also responsible for minor and major repairs.
