What you need to do and know
Supplementary Information Forms (SIFs)
You must check if any of the schools you're applying for require a Supplementary Information Form (SIF).
This form needs to be completed alongside your online application.
If a school requires a SIF, you'll need to get it directly from the school and return it to them.
Your application won't be fully considered by the school until they receive this form.
Completing your application
Fill in your application online via our In-Year Parent Portal, listing the schools you wish to apply for.
Proof of address and ID
We need to ensure that school places are offered fairly and based on accurate information.
Once your child is offered a school place, the school will invite you and your child to a welcome meeting.
At this meeting, you'll be asked to provide proof of your child's identity (including their legal name and date of birth) and proof of the address where you and your child are living, as stated on your application.

If the school believes the information you've provided isn't sufficient or may be fraudulent, they'll refer the case back to the Havering School Admissions Team for further investigation.
If the information is found to be fraudulent or intentionally misleading, the offer of a school place may be withdrawn and your application cancelled.
Guardianship
If a child is not living with their natural parents and you are looking after them, we need to see written evidence that you are the legal guardian and have parental responsibility.
This evidence could be a will, a court order, or a statutory declaration.
Guardianship only applies if you can prove you have full care of the child and their normal, permanent home is with you.
It does not apply if you only take the child to and from school or look after them until their parents collect them.
If you cannot provide proof of guardianship, we will refer your application to social services while we process your form.
Siblings (Brothers and Sisters)
It's rare that we can offer siblings places in the same school at the same time.
This is because most of our schools are already full, and it's uncommon for multiple spaces to become available across different year groups simultaneously.
Places only become available when children leave, and we can't predict when this will happen for specific year groups or schools.
If we can't offer all your children places at the same school, please contact us to discuss whether we can suggest an alternative school (one you haven't asked for) that might be able to keep all your children together.
Confirmation of your application
Your application is only valid once you have pressed the 'Submit application' button at the end of the 'Check and submit' page.
Once submitted, you'll receive a confirmation email which will include your child’s name and the schools you have applied for.
If you have twins, triplets, or other multiple births, please ensure you receive a separate confirmation email for each child.
