Tree Wardens

Tree Wardens are local volunteers who play an active role in caring for and monitoring the trees within their communities.

Their involvement helps strengthen the connection between residents and their natural environment, while supporting the council in maintaining a healthy, resilient tree population.

The scheme is coordinated nationally by The Tree Council, a volunteer-led organisation that promotes community engagement, training, and support for tree-related activities.

Through coordinated work between council officers and trained volunteers, the aim is to significantly improve the quality, condition, and long‑term sustainability of Havering’s tree stock.

Together, we can enhance our environment, support biodiversity, and ensure that Havering’s trees continue to benefit future generations.
