About the Havering youth Offending Service

Havering Youth Offending Services was established under the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act.

They are specifically set up as multi-agency services who support young people who offend and are either referred to us by the Police or by the criminal Courts.

Havering Youth Offending Service offer both community and custodial interventions depending on the seriousness of an offence, and joint work with our partners (as below) to ensure young people are supported to move away from committing crime.

We are inspected by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation (HMIP), and are centrally overseen with all other youth offending services centrally by the Youth Justice Board who are accountable to the Ministry of Justice.
