Vehicle clamping and tow removals
A fine is not always a sufficient deterrent to prevent illegal parking. We may also use vehicle clamps to immobilise vehicles.
If your vehicle has been clamped, you will need to follow the release instructions left on the vehicle.
The clamp release charge and fine (Penalty Charge Notice) must be paid before the vehicle is released.
You are entitled to appeal after you have paid the relevant parking fine and release charge.
Clamp removal cost
- release clamp - £70
Vehicles towed away
In other cases where the illegally parked vehicle is causing an obstruction or where the owner has not paid for release of a clamp, the vehicle will be removed and taken to our vehicle pound.
We will also remove vehicles from persistent offenders who flout the law and do not pay their parking fines (Penalty Charge Notices).
You can telephone the TRACE service on 0845 206 8602, who will advise you where the vehicle has been taken and how much the release fee is.
The vehicle release fee and penalty charge notice must be paid before the vehicle will be released.
Depending on the length of the time the vehicle has been stored there may be additional charges.
You are only entitled to appeal after you have paid the relevant penalty charge notice and release charges.
If you do not take the appropriate steps to claim your vehicle, then we will take the appropriate steps to dispose of the vehicle. Disposal does not mean that any charges are waived.
